I did a scissor job on some old chinos to make today's shorts. The chinos were in my charity bag as they were quite old fashioned wide-fit ones but that made them perfect for home-made shorts! Wore them on a trip to our closest National Trust site - Rowallane in Saintfield. Was amazing there - we practically had the place to ourselves!
