My illness has robbed so much from my life but its made me a much stronger person and Im proud to say that. You dont gain wisdom and strength from having an easy life where everything gets handed to you. You gain wisdom through your experiences and strength through endurance. Dont sell yourself short!

There were so many mornings that Id wake up in such a bad mood and all I wanted to do was lay around and feel sorry for myself. Its so easy to stay in a bad mood and let it ruin the rest of your day. But if you choose to be happy - as hard as that is sometimes - it'll turn your day around. If you choose to find happiness in the little things and try to be positive on the rougher days then you'll start to see your mood lifting.

Anxiety has taught me to fear things that might not even happen. Its taught me to be afraid of anything and everything and the possibility that just maybe, something might go wrong and even convinces me that itll go wrong. Whenever I start feeling anxious - I tell myself to just let it be. It may be the title of one of the most iconic Beatles songs, but its also one of my mantras. Let it be. It'll be okay. Whatever happens, happens.

To take a step back and just focus on your breathing, inhaling and exhaling. If you slow your breathing, you can calm yourself down and you start to think a bit more rationally. I wish I’d caught on to that sooner – breathing now really is the key for me when things become too much.

I think any disorder comes with some kind of self doubt, really. My anxiety loves to knock my confidence and tell me I cant do anything, that Ill just fail so I shouldnt bother. Some days that really can get a hold of me and I find it harder to believe that I can because Im so used to believing that I cant, but every day I tell myself I can no matter what, because THATS the truth. My insecurity is wrong - I'm stronger than that, and so are you!
