At the 1960 Rome Olympics, she became "the fastest woman in the world" and the 1st American woman to win 3 gold medals in one Olympics. He attended Ohio State Univ. and won 8 individual NCAA championships but due to racist laws, he had to live off campus—staying and eating at black-only hotels/restaurants. In 1936, nazi Germany hosted the Summer Olympics with hopes of promoting Aryan-fascism.
