Lilium pyrophilum/NC Sandhills Gamelands. I confess to being obsessed ww/this plant since I spotted 3 buds in early July. I had only seen this sandhills endemic on the cover of Bruce Sorrie's book. The 1st blossom opened 7/28, the 2nd on 7/29, the last on 7/31. Around 4 pm the final blossom assumed its reflexed position & a hummingbird made repeated visits to the blossoms.
