A quick survey to get to know your students. Use it at the beginning of the school year, after breaks, or open house and meet the teacher nights. If you get to meet your students before the next school year, this would be helpful too!

These surveys are a great way to let me learn more about my students and can be a reference I come back to throughout the year while planning lessons and other activities.

Bridgette Guerzon Mills created this project with young children. Here's what she did: Create drawings/marks with oil pastel and add watercolour washes to make their drawings "pop". Take photos and superimpose on the artwork. Complete phrases eg. "My favorite color is ____" and "I am ___" Cut phrases into strips and glue onto artwork. Mixed Media Self Portrait. Oil pastel and watercolor wash, artistic photograph, and poem. Children did the backgrounds, came up with words that described them and added it on top on canvas boards. Big wow factor for the parents. What an awesome idea!
