When the St. Louis Zoo opened its bird house in 1930, it boasted a rare collection of rare birds. St. Louisans donated birds, including this parrot. A little white 'Shadow' arrived at the St. Louis Zoo's Primate House. A black and white colobus monkey was born on Halloween, 10/31/2012. Her name is Kivuli which is Swahili for ghost or shadow. Colobus infants are born with all white hair and a pink face. Infants will change color gradually until they reach adult coloration.
