Today greens are associated with environmentally friendly politics and New Zealand bush walks... rich and comforting with a sense of luxury and style. Many cultures associate Green with positivity, Spring, paradise and new life.
Black is a colour that is considered to be quite elegant and simple at the same time. A black outfit can be seen as more sophisticated than a colourful one. In interior design black can provide a neutral background that can pops of colour added to it for surprising interest.
White, is a positive colour, it is associated with purity, virginity, innocence, and perfection. The colour of snow, white is often used to represent coolness and simplicity. White’s association with cleanliness and sterility is often seen in hospitals, medical centres.
Charles Rennie Mackintosh was born is Glasgow in 1868 he designed some of the most striking buildings around the Glasgow area that are still admired to this day. Visiting Glasgow to see all of his works was high on my bucket list and I wasn't disappointed. Charles Rennie Mackintosh had his own unique style of design that even now stands out from the crowd.

To honour St Valentines day I thought we could explore the colour red. When I think of purple I think of deep plush velvet, aubergine eggplants and the pop singer “Prince” and Alice Walker’s famous book “The Colour Purple” I love the line out of this book when Shug says “ I think it pisses God off if you walk by the colour purple in a field somewhere and don’t notice it”.
Yellow is the most luminous of all the colours of the spectrum. It’s the colour that captures our attention more than any other colour. It’s the colour of happiness, and optimism, of enlightenment and creativity, sunshine and spring. In the natural world, yellow is the colour of sunflowers and daffodils, egg yolks and lemons, canaries and bees. In our contemporary human-made world, yellow is the colour of Sponge Bob.
