Easy to make Morning Routine Posters, for smoother mornings with kids.

Smooth Mornings | Creekside Learning

I grew weary of asking my 6 year old, “Did you brush your teeth?” every morning. I grew even wearier of battling with the 4 year old to do each one of her morning tasks (go potty, get dressed, etc.). So I was looking for a new system. I found some great things on line and in catalogs, but nothing for under $20. Per kid. Twenty dollars. Well, I have 3 kids so I decided to design my own Morning Routine Posters. {This post contains affiliate links.} Plus, I was itching to use my newly acquired…

Lovingly handcrafting unique, creative & beautiful kiwi resources!

A simple set of action cards to match the Māori version of "Hokey tokey!' You put your right hand in, you put your right hand out, you put your right hand in, and you shake it all about, you do the hokey tokey, and you turn yourself around, that's what it's all about! The cards are in Māori (with a brief English translation), and were designed for my hard-working-musically-minded-Mum to hold up for her students to see as the song progresses. The cards contain the key words from the lyrics…

Maui and the sun

We have been reading the book Maui and the sun. It's about how Maui and his brothers work as a team to slow down the sun so that everyone can enjoy longer days. We talked about how we are a team as well and shared our ideas about how we all help in our classroom. Then we made our own sun and took photos of ourselves pulling the sun in. It was a lot of fun and we enjoyed learning how to use the cameras. Take a look at our finished display.
