Loughrigg Fell: A marvelous hike in the Lake District offering spectacular views of Lake Windermere.That little ladder is called a stile. The structure allows hikers to safely cross over ancient stone walls that criss-cross the English countryside.

A very hard frost had occurred overnight turning the ground white with rime. Then as the sun rose, the thin layer of Stratocumulus cloud-Fire and Ice - a perfect combination. Location: Castlerigg situated near Keswick in Cumbria, North West England.

The third largest lake in the Lake District, Coniston Water sits in a U shaped valley scoured out by a glacial action in the last ice age. Known as Thurston Water until the Victorian era, the lake is now a popular holiday resort.

The Lake District -- Andrew, Aaron, and I spent a week in Hawkshead a decade or so ago, exploring and enjoying Beatrix Potter and Wordsworth country.   Aaron hiked; Andrew and I walked.  It was superb!
