Simply Designing with Ashley: Homemade Laundry Detergent - Been using this for a year, and only have to make a new batch about every 6 months. I use fels naptha rather than ivory, and I just put it in the food processor on pulse instead of using a regular cheese grater (did that the first batch, and it took FOREVER). My clothes smell fresh and not perfumey (I hate the really strong laundry scents), and it gets everything nice and clean. Love this!

Have a friend who used this and she says it works great and she saves a ton Homemade laundry detergent. I doubled the recipe and used Fels-Naptha instead of ivory. I also threw a cup of oxygen powder from Whole Foods in.

Laundry Detergent (dry) I know a lot of recipes out there called for Fels Naptha but we use Zote & it is great for sensitive skin, but you can still use Fels Naptha in this recipe if you want, The Epsom salts are for water softening or use Kosher or Sea Salt. Make sure your grated soap is fine, otherwise, the chunks will just float and not dissolve. Oxyclean is optional. I add a large container of Purex Crystals to this mix and have delightfully scented laundry!

LIKE: Laundry Detergent (dry) - I used laundry crystals to add a stronger scent. Used box of Borax, 4 lb box of Washing Soda, 3 bars of Fels Naptha, 3 cups of Epsom Salt, and 4 lbs of Baking Soda.

For everyone who has asked about a DIY Stain Stick, here it is! I love it, it works just as well as the name brand ones!
