A combination of "Rising Stars"and "Pine Trees". In an unusual touch, the maker has appliquéd pine cones, which are symbols of fertility, on the trees. "Elsey A. Halstead cross-stitched her name, date, town in red thread in a corner of the quilt...". The tree borders are often found on upstate NY quilts.
