I have this Audubon print in my living room - Carolina Parrots (extinct).

John James Audubon ~ (1785 - 1851)  Self Portrait, 1826 (pencil on paper)   was a French- ( of Huguenot Descent ) American ornithologist, naturalist, and painter. He was notable for his expansive studies to document all types of American birds and for his detailed illustrations that depicted the birds in their natural habitats.  He is considered the pioneer of the study of ornithology in the United States .
