On Monday, July 10, 2017, a tragic incident lead to the loss of sixteen United States service members. A mechanical failure caused a USMC KC-130 refueling tanker to crash from 20,000 feet into a soy bean field in Mississippi, killing everyone on board. Fifteen of these brave men served in the Marines, and one served as a Navy Corpsman. Seven of those killed served with the Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC).
