Frank McLaury (March 3, 1848 - October 26, 1881) was a ranch hand of the Old West. He is best known for being a member of group of outlaw Cowboys that faced off against lawmen Wyatt, Virgil and Morgan Earp in the Gunfight at the O.K. Frank C. Stilwell (1856 - March 20, 1882) was an outlaw Cowboy who murdered at least two men in Cochise County during 1877-1882. He was closely involved in the events leading up to and following the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral on October 26, 1881, and was suspected in the murder of Morgan Earp on March 18, 1882. Two days after Morgan's death, Frank Stilwell was killed in retribution by Deputy U.S. Marshal Wyatt Earp in a Tucson train yard.

Dr. George E. Goodfellow treated Virgil Earp and Morgan Earp after they were wounded in the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral. His testimony later helped absolve the Earps and Doc Holliday of murder charges when they shot and killed three outlaw Cowboys and supported their contention that they acted lawfully. He treated Virgil again when he was maimed in an ambush and rushed to Morgan's side when he was mortally wounded by an assassin.

In Dr, George Emory Goodfellow, famously known as the surgeon to the gunfighters, published a paper detailing his observation that bullets did not penetrate silk. Further testing and innovation led to the development of the first bullet-proof vest.
