Mercantilism & the Navigation Acts

These Navigation Acts were created in 1651 to restrict foreign ships to trade between Britain and its colonies. These were created under the term mercantilism, which allowed them to think that their wealth would increase by restricting trade to certain colonies and countries.

The Navigation Acts started in 1651 and helped spread Mercantilism to the New World. It prohibited the New World to trade with any other countries other than England and really limited what the colonies could do.
