RAYBROOK STATE SANATORIUM WAS OPENED IN 1904 AND ENLARGED IN 1910. THE TRAIN STATION WAS RIGHT ON THE HOSPITAL GROUNDS. THE SANATORIUM WAS FREE TO ALL NYS RESIDENTS. IN 1946 IT WAS RENAMED RAY BROOK STATE TUBERCULOSIS HOSPITAL. IN 1980 IT WAS THE WINTER OLYMPIC VILLAGE AND HOUSED THE ATHLETES. IT WAS RUN AS A WOMEN'S DRUG FACILITY FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER AND IT IS NOW A STATE PRISON CALLED THE ADIRONDACK CORRECTIONAL FACILITY OR CAMP ADIRONDACK.
