Southend-on-Sea - Another of our typical seaside places within an hour from London is Southend-on-Sea. The lively town has a lot to offer day-trippers who are looking for a change of scenery. The three Blue Flag beaches here are a major attraction, as are the Sea-Life Adventure Aquarium and roller coasters on Adventure Island. Visitors will also find unique shopping opportunities in Southend-on-Sea’s buzzing city centre.

Southend Timeline-Southend Victoria Hospital - Southend lost the first building that formed the very first hospital in the town. Although the very modern Southend General hospital in Prittlewell Chase had been in use for many years this original building in Warrior Square was retained by the NHS as a clinic. Finally running out of lives in 1978 when it was demolished. Making way for car parking around the Warrior Square Swim Centre.

Jewel anemones coat the walls below 20m off the south west coast of England. These gems collect in coloured families formed through the dividing of individuals. The colours are amazing always with totally different colours on the tentacles and the centre. This was taken at 27m on the Runnel Stone off Lands End in Cornwall. #Cornwall #visitcornwall #ukdiving #uksealife #underwater #underwaterphotography #scuba #diving #scubadiving #sealife #anenome #jewel #jewelanenome #green #yellow…

PINK GLOW AT DAYS END Peppermint Bay, Tasmania, Australia. I had just jumped off the ferry that had brought me from Hobart as the sun was beginning to set. Behind me was a wonderful restaurant and function centre and ahead was the tranquil Peppermint Bay with a number of moored yachts, reasonably calm seas and clouds that had turned pink at days end. It makes you think about how good life can be.
