York - The Olde Starr Inn, Stonegate: Another building which once housed injured Civil War troops, the basement is said to be the place where amputations occurred, which explains the sound of cries and screams. Two black cats are also reported to haunt the pub, and an old woman has been seen on the stairs.
The Mitre Tavern, between Hatton Garden and Ely Place. It bears a stone mitre carved on the front with the date Ely Place still has its own Watchman who closes the gates a ten o’clock and cries the hours through the night.
I will take this advice for when(hopefully) I go to Ireland --> Temple Bar, Dublin. A little further down on the left is an amazing restaurant called Elephant and Castle. If you ever get a chance to visit get their wings!
