Portfolio books for individual child documentation -- and they can go back and reference it!

Documentation Books

The students are beginning to take more pride in their learning and documentation books. They have started to share them with one another.

What a fantastic example of artful documentation. This can be both displayed in the classroom and added to each child's portfolio. It is both beautiful and descriptive, explaining how the project came to be, what they did, and what it meant to the people involved. From Branches Atelier, a Reggio-Inspired school in California.

Portfolios: Each child has their own portfolio binder, which is updated routinely by his/her classroom teachers. The portfolio is a compilation of pictures, quotes, artwork, writing samples (if applicable), and information regarding developmental milestones that chronicles each individual child’s growth and development at Compass. Each portfolio is accessible in the classroom and parents can reference it at any time to gather information about their child’s early learning experiences ≈≈
