A shot looking down the Herekino harbour in the Far North of New Zealand with Orowhana mountain in the background. The Far North of New Zealand is full of hidden treasures like this view. Even many New Zealanders are ignorant of the beauty that abounds in the very Far North of New Zealand. Use Kaitaia as a base and explore the wilderness that is so plentiful in the Far North of New Zealand.

How's this for your office? One of the perks of being a farmer in New Zealand is the breath-taking scenery. This land is part of the Hammond family farm on the Herekino Harbor/Harbour (depending on your spelling) in the Far North of New Zealand.

This photo is taken from the Coastal Pacific train as it travels along the coast from Christchurch to Picton in the South Island of New Zealand. This photo shows the sea, the sky and the mountains all in one shot. In New Zealand your natural environment changes quickly and this photo illustrates it so well.

We took this photo as we traveled by train from Christchurch to Kaikoura on the Coastal Pacific train. Taking photos on a moving train presents a challenge.

FreshTake Publishers (Photographer Jennifer Hammond): The farmland on the family farm goes right down to the coast. The waves can be quite high and the surf wild on the Tasman Sea. This photo shows more layers of the waves than height.

FreshTake PubIishers (Photographer Jennifer Hammond): If you look carefully at these boat sheds, you'll see TV antennas and satellite dishes. These sheds are used for storing boats close by the sea. They are also a hangout place on the weekends and during the summer. Inside, they are equipped with couches, a kitchen, maybe even a bed and TV. Whole families will congregate in the evening enjoying each other’s company and feasting on seafood caught during the day.

FreshTake Publishers (Photographer Jennifer Hammond): This photo is a typical scene throughout New Zealand. Tourists and locals alike have been known to"kickback", and take things easy at the beach. It exemplifies a laid-back culture of shorts and flip-flops.

This shot taken on the isolated Hammond family farm at Owhata 35 minutes south-west of Kaitaia in the Far North of New Zealand shows you just how close New Zealandars are to nature. Sheep and horses graze only metres from a pink Toyota.

This is a photo taken at the Whakarewarewa thermal village in Rotorua, New Zealand. The members of the local Māori tribes that live there guide you around their village. They really do live that close to the all the geothermal activity. It is a must see if you visit New Zealand.

This NZ greeting card is of Whakarewarewa in Rotorua. This māori village is built amongst hot springs, mud pools, and a geyser.
