Technical Sergeant Leonard P. Matlovich (July 6, 1943 – June 22, 1988) was a Vietnam War veteran, race relations instructor, and recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. On June 22, 1988, he died in LA of complications from HIV/AIDS beneath a large photo of Martin Luther King, Jr. His tombstone in Congressional Cemetery in Washington, DC does not bear his name.
