Air New Zealand Lockheed L-188C Electra ZK-CLX "Akaroa" on the ramp at Auckland-Whenuapai, circa July 1965. The Air New Zealand name had been launched in April 1965 and this aircraft carries a hybrid livery that still includes the previous TEAL name on the tail. ZK-CLX was purchased from Qantas to replace ZK-TEC (also named "Akaroa"), which had been written off in a bizarre training accident at the same aerodrome, 27th March 1965.
