This is another interesting article that discusses the Tesla battery and it might not be fully developed as first hoped

Tesla's New Battery Doesn't Work That Well With Solar - Bloomberg Business

This is why we are passed tipping point. How is it sustainable to start drilling where the last drilling caused a massive oil spill and damaged/destroyed nature. The article explains the go ahead for a Louisiana company to start drilling near the BP disaster. Sustainability is defined as people, planet, profit... Yet we all want sustainability but it only seems to be in the form of profit.

Louisiana oil company set to drill near site of Deepwater Horizon spill

I post this article as i feel that it creates an interesting question worth discussing. Are Mobile showing business ethics by saying their sorry and freely contributing to the clean up as well as allowing the opportunity for damage claims to be awarded. Or are they doing it based on PR to take away bad light that could shine on Mobile from this so their business and profits are not hurt etc?

Mobil says sorry for oil leak

The article is a good read about diversity within the workplace. New Zealand has 213 different ethnic groups. Basically in New Zealand it is a necessity to be a diverse workplace due to so many ethnic groups. The more diverse the business the greater chance of commercial advantage for businesses.

Embracing diversity in the workplace isn't a 'nice to have' these days - it's a necessity.

I was fortunate to be able to study in China briefly last year. This photo was taken whilst attending a meeting and i thought it was interesting as it showed how bad the smog actually is (even through a crappy phone camera). The smog mainly comes from the high amount of coal that is being burnt to fuel energy consumption and the manufacturing of goods. This smog not only affects China but also it affects the globe. About 29% of San Francisco’s pollution comes from China...

This links to this weeks topic of mega-trend #7 Climate Change - which was outlined within the KPMG report. Climate Change is a global issue that needs continual addressing and action. Climate Change has been broken down into 3 sectors within this article, giving a greater overview of the issue at hand. Awareness is key with climate change, if people can understand what climate change is and are willing to address climate change, then there will be greater action globally on the issue.
