Eureka Gewürztraminer 2011 Marlborough In this episode I taste Eureka Gewurztraminer 2011 Marlborough. Eureka Gewurztraminer was picked at 26 Brix from the lower Wairau, 15% of this blend was fermented in 228ltr Acacia barrels. Acacia barrels have been used in wine making in Europe for centuries, France and Eastern Europe (Hungary esp). The wood itself has very little tannin content, so it does not have the type of impact as a oak barrel.

In this episode of UnScrewed TV I taste the Eureka Gewürztraminer 2011 from Marlborough.

Craggy Range Merlot. Craggy Range Merlot is made from carefully selected plots, matured for 13 months in barriques and then the final assemblage is made. The wine is full and voluptuous, with primary fruit driving the message home. Although young this wine is drinking well now but for optimum pleasure I would recommend at least 4 years worth of careful cellaring. 90 Points 5 Stars RRP $25
