Why You Need A Reflector For Shooting Better Portraits
Fill Light. Place a reflector at subject's waist level; the light that reflects upward onto your subject’s face will fill in those shadows caused by full sun. Use as Main Light. Position your subject with the sun behind them and reflector positioned at a slight angle in front of your model. Use a reflector to block hotspots under shade. A black reflector is used to absorb light and create soft shadows.
