How To: Make a Modern Paper Mache Lamp Remember back in the day when you made those paper mache masks and impressed all your elementary school friends? Well, paper mache is growing up (in a big way) with today's DIY lamp idea.
This bicornual shaped basket with handle and decorated with coloured pigments was donated to the museum in and is from the Tully River region of Queensland. The basket is made from bugul or lawyer cane.
The exhibition includes baskets and kelp carriers made by more than twenty Tasmanian women aged from 7 to 87 years of age, alongside historical pieces and contemporary and historical interpretive material.
