twoWORLDs showed us classic tailoring and clean lines and colour blocking interposed with interesting patterns.
The colours used by the designer were vibrant, and patterns were cleanly integrated into the collection. Ruffled shirts were classically styled with peplum jackets and silk jumpsuits completed the collection.
She says New Materialism “celebrates a holistic approach to fashion, by looking at our design/production cycle. We can be smarter about our effects and impacts on the world around us.” This New Materialism commitment is shown though their choice of fabric used to make the exquisite garments seen on the runway during the show.
Founder and designer of Starfish Laurie Foon, explains that WFW is all about showcasing there great collections in couple with their New Materialism approach to fashion. Laurie describes New Materialism as representing a “fresh approach to fashion…while we love to have beautiful things, for us it also is about focusing on what makes them truly beautiful, how and where they were made and what from.”
