Over the last week I've been attending a Maori Art taster course. During those 4 days we had to complete our NCEA booklet and also create a piece of Maori Art on some MDF board. The one above is mine, using the Koiri patterns and those three colors. Its approximately 80cm x 20cm.
Aroha means "love" This is a gift for some newly weds. The korus (spirals) symbolise the couple, and the little one in the middle is their daughter. Size is A4 and it will be framed. I must credit Shelly Beach with the inspriation for the koru.
