They're the largest pigeon species on the planet, they get drunk on fermenting berries and fall out of trees, and we are lucky enough to call the Kererū (Wood Pigeon) a native of Aotearoa. These birds are stunning, and this image was created for a great friend for her birthday. As I write this, I am lucky enough to be visiting her place, and I am looking at this big beauty in his Nikau berry bunch, in real life!
