Often we start our family history by ourselves. However it is when we start talking to our wider family that the stories and memories flow. This four page guide includes ideas and techniques for contacting and recording family memories and stories. It includes two pages of family related questions to prompt your conversations when visiting or talking to family members.
The importance of directories and electoral rolls to trace where our ancestors lived is a bit like the use of birth, death and marriage certificates in family history. They give us the names, the dates and the where but they don’t really tell the story. So let’s look at adding details to these addresses.
