We’re reflecting on the importance of bringing the community into the design process.

Using this patient-design approach, we developed five distinct interior design spaces for mothers and their children in healthcare facilities:

1️⃣ Private space
2️⃣ Amenity space
3️⃣ Social spaces
4️⃣ Community spaces
5️⃣ Positive distractions

We love working directly with patients to understand their needs and preferences so we can create functional environments that promote their well-being.

Providing lighting is especially important for those working tirelessly in healthcare facilities. For this reason, we find ways to incorporate the rejuvenating benefits of nature into every Parkin project, like providing access to abundant natural light and views of nature with larger windows in all patient rooms, staff rooms, corridors, and shared spaces.
