Grade 5 Earth and Space Science- Weather. By having each student create a cycle of how weather works will allow the students to become more familiar with how it works in their daily lives. Ensure the students understand the meanings behind all the correct weather terms, (cold front, etc) and see how they can make a cycle out of felt or card board paper.
VIDEO: The pitch drop experiment holds the Guinness World Record for the longest running laboratory experiment - 80 years so far! Back in 1927, Professor Thomas Parnell from the University of Queensland set up the experiment by heating some pitch - the thickest fluid known - and pouring it into a glass funnel. 9 drops have fallen so far, with the 10th expected to fall in the next 5-10 years.
