Patricia Hill Collins (1948 - ) is Distinguished Prof of Sociology at the University of Maryland. She is perhaps best known for her book Black Feminist Thought: Knowledge, Consciousness and the Politics of Empowerment. In it, she argues that there is no single, monolithic oppression, but instead, multiple oppressions working together to produce injustice.
