Liberty, Mo. Bank Jesse James Held Up in 1866. Now a museum. On Square in Liberty, Missouri The first & most successful bank robbery took place here on 2/13/1866 just 8 miles from the James home & several miles from a bend of MO River. Their next robbery took place on 10/30/1866 in Lexington, MO.
