Ordered to turn over pregnant women to be experimented on, she instead performed thousands of abortions, saving those women from deadly Nazi “scientific” torture. Dr Perl defied the Nazis in hopes that the women she saw would survive to have children in freedom in the future and many did. Dr Perl survived too, and emigrated to NYC and had a thriving practice at Mt Sinai Hospital. She was a hero.

Golda Meir was the fourth Prime Minister of the State of Israel from 1969 to 1974. (She was the world's third female Prime Minister.) She was born in Kiev (May 3, 1898), grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and with her husband made aliyah (moved to Israel) in 1921. Ms Meir played many roles in the creation of the State of Israel. She died in Jerusalem, December 8, 1978.
