22k gold Tibetan Gau | Collected in the early 1960′s in India, this gau was owned by a wealthy woman of the Lhasa nobility. The front and sides are 22k gold reddened with an iron oxide rich clay , a technique seen only in Tibet on high karat gold work. The gau is lavishly inlaid with fantastic sky blue Persian turquoise, emeralds, rubies, seed pearls,  and white topaz. The back is copper as typical for this type of gau.
