Whole class reward/consequence system. Get a big jar and some Star Stones, jewels, pom poms, ping pong balls, or whatever else you have. When the whole class is exceeding your expectations put items in the jar. When they're not, take the items out. When the jar is filled they get a reward.

I called this a "Gem Jar" and the class earned gems for compliments they received when we were out and about in the school. For whole group management, add stars to the jar when the class is on task. When the jar is full, the class gets a reward.

Back to school idea - "We're looking back on summer, this is what we see!" Have students draw pictures of things they have done over summer break in sunglasses. You could also do it for things students are looking forward to this year.
