Ray Frey Auto Center, 7696 Vickers Street, San Diego, CA 92111. This is the only place I'll take my car! They never rip me off, and Ray himself argued with a manufacturer to honor my warranty on some new struts that failed. All of the other auto shops and mechanics around can just take it in the butt. This place rules.
I'm not quite sure if Western Steakburger is a franchise or a chain, but I know that there are at least two of them in San Diego(the other in Serra Mesa). I'll often stop by the shop on University Avenue.
Chocolat Cremerie, 509 Fifth Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101. This place has the best crepes I've ever had in my life. They have Nutella crepes, or Nutella-combined-with-other-stuff crepes. They have gelato made on the premises. They have a stupid douchebag in a fedora who wouldn't get out of my picture. This is a great place for brunch, or any meal, if you're exploring the famous Gaslamp Quarter. Take a seat near the door and watch the colorful characters downtown put on a show!
