Many of today’s top U.S. show jumping riders got their start in the junior hunter and jumper divisions. Nicole Shahinian (now Simpson) won the small junior hunter championship, the AHSA Medal, sec. A, the large junior hunter reserve championship, and was named Best Child Rider at the Devon Horse Show in 1990. She’s shown here on Bold Headlines. Photo by Pennington Galleries.

Saw this great shot from back in the day of Trouble Maker and I in 1961 at the Garden when we won the AHSA and Maclay Finals. Big thanks to Marianne Taylor for posting it in the group Hunters & Jumpers: The First 100 Years! ‪#‎ThrowbackThursday‬ "I sold Stephanie (Steck) "Trouble Maker" after my Medal/Maclay win with him in 1961. I was so proud to see both of them win the Medal (63) and immediately bought him back and retired him to grass. He died in his late 20's." ~ Bernie Traurig

Bernie Traurig and Trouble Maker! Bernie winning the Maclay in 1961 on Trouble Maker at the old Madison Square Garden.

I've been jumping with Rex and he is magnificent! He almost never touches the rails but the best part is that he loves it. Sometimes if it's a small jump on the ground cupcake will also jump it.
