Vincent "Chin" Gigante  Boss of the Genovese family. The "Oddfather"  pretended to be mentally disturbed and managed to delay his federal racketeering prosecution for seven years while authorities tried to prove he was mentally competent to stand trial. Gigante was convicted in 1997 and sentenced to 12 years in prison. In 2003, he pled guilty to an additional charge of obstruction of justice. He died while incarcerated at a federal facility in Springfield, Mo, in 2005.
