Many religions teach that God's name is “God” or “Lord,” but those are not personal names. They are titles, just as “king” and “president” are titles. In the Bible, God has many descriptive titles, such as God Almighty, Sovereign Lord, Father, Most High, and Creator, but he also recorded in his Word his personal name, Jehovah.
If Jehovah had not resurrected Jesus from the grave, there would have been no more Jesus. But Jehovah was faithful to his Word, as always. He resurrected his Son and exalted him to a higher position in heaven. But Jesus is not God, Jehovah.
Jehovah is the personal name of God, as found in the Bible. (Exodus 6:3; Psalm 83:18) A witness is a person who proclaims views or truths of which he is convinced. Thus, our name Jehovah’s Witnesses designates us as a group of Christians who proclaim the truth about Jehovah, the Creator of all things. (Revelation 4:11) We witness to others by the way we live our lives and by sharing with them what we’ve learned from the Bible.~Isaiah 43:10-12; 1 Peter 2:12
Coin 1634 - with the name Jehovah is visible. This name was a household word, used in Bible readings, hymns, opera music, embroidered onto bookmarks, carved onto church doorways, and painted above paintings and even on the crown of an angel in the Vatican. It was removed +7,000 times from the Bible, and replaced with "God" and "Lord". Jehovah forbade taking away one word of his Holy Word.
