The Majestic Building was Detroit's fourth skyscraper and was designed by renowned American architect Daniel H. Burnham. Here, you can see familiar landmarks such as the Book-Cadillac Hotel, David Stott Building and Book Tower. This Beaux Arts beauty at Michigan and Woodward avenues stood from 1896 until 1961 and is one of 15 lost landmarks chronicled in "Forgotten Landmarks of Detroit" by Dan Austin (History Press, $22.99, 263 pages).
