Informational Reading 1: "Classroom Crime Scene" Instead of just reading the historical story, have the children interact with it by bringing it to life. This teacher used the Boston Massacre and gave her students video clues. Something far less violent could be used as well. I liked the idea of bringing the history to life and letting the students interact with it as opposed to just hearing it.
