James II (England, Wales, Ireland) & James VII (Scotland) Charles II had no children and his brother took over when he died. He was a Roman Catholic. He had two daughters (Protestant) and eventually a son.

His portrait was reproduced in numerous forms that could be disseminated widely, both as propaganda and as gifts for supporters....He was 19 years old at the time of the sitting and is portrayed as a confident warrior-prince."
