A is for Australia was a fun children’s school holiday show at Burwood Library, celebrating Australia’s folklore and history, ranging from the Dreamtime, to Colonial times, to Australia’s modern day heroes including a tribute to Australians in World War I.
Orange Family History Group, partner volunteers with Central West Libraries main branch, Orange City Library, has reached an incredible milestone of 80,000 entries from in the local newspapers, births, deaths and marriages listings, funeral and probate notices and obituaries. Members of Orange Family History Group Marie Cousins, Lynne Irvine, Jenny Gillard and Julie Milne are creating a valuable archive.
Superheroes were abound on 16 May 2015 when Wollongong City Libraries hosted the third year of Comic Gong. Comic Gong is Wollongong’s number one festival of popular culture. It brings together people from across our diverse and vibrant community to celebrate comics, graphic novels, fandom, cosplay, lifelong learning and literacy!
Congratulations to Parramatta City Library, winners of a Zest Award for Exceptional Community Partnership Project across a region for the ‘Eels Read with a Mate’ Program. The program is designed to educate fathers of language and literacy rich environments for children from birth.
Ashfield Library are proud to present quarterly Saturday Storytime programs for preschool aged children and parents who may not be able to attend our week day sessions! The program is in its third year and is treasured and highly valued by local families, with up to 90 attending a single session.
