In the early 1800’s plaster of Paris was poured into molds to make imitations of fine porcelain figurines often called Chalkware. The American Carnival Began to appear about 1893. Games of Chance became very popular and these chalkware figures began to emerge as prizes in the early 1900’s and lasted until the 1950’s.
