My great grandmother loved this bird, don't know if it was the bird or the fact that they are scarlet red, which she loved as well.  Anytime I see one, I know she has just checked in with me and said Hi.

The paradise tanager (Tangara chilensis) is a brilliantly multicolored, medium-sized songbird whose length varies between 13.5 and 15 cm.
