2016 BMW X1 Review
Even though the 2016 BMW X1 compact SUV earned a decent road-test score and ranks well among its competitors, its dynamic responsiveness lacks the purity we expect from the German brand. A zippy turbocharged four-cylinder provides alert acceleration should you need to squirt through traffic. The transmission performs smooth and quick upshifts. Fuel economy is impressive for the class. But unlike most BMWs, the X1 lacks a certain handling precision.
Shift delays are now an artifact of history. The transmission uses one clutch for even gears and another for the odd gears. The next gear is already pre-selected, and the result is smooth, quick gear changes you’ll almost never notice. By precisely tuning the engine to unleash torque at a broader rev range, the force you feel seems to increase the faster you go. Acceleration Swell feels more like a limitless rush than a momentary thrill. #Infiniti #QX30 #FieldsInfinti #InfinitiQX30
