The Kakapo (Māori: kākāpō, meaning night parrot), Strigops Habroptila, also called Owl Parrot, is a species of large, flightless nocturnal parrot endemic to New Zealand. Critically endangered, only 126 are known to be alive.

This was part of a series that was commissioned. Each of the New Zealand birds in this set is done in an inked 'tattoo' style. Various outline thickness has been used to create depth. This one is mostly in neutral/realistic colours with a splash of brighter colours. All the backgrounds are similar with a blue blur and a few hashes.
