You're the Best

I colored these flower a while ago and just got around to using them. I saw the sketch from Cas(e) this Sketch this week and immediately thought of this layout. While I didn't have the exact stamps in mind to put it together at first, it came together quite quickly after I browsed the stamps I had at my fingertips. It's difficult to see but, the centers of the flowers are colored in with a soft gold pencil and the pinstripes to the far left are embossed in gold. Cool in real life, but just…

Be a Macaron

Mmmm, macarons. Aren't they delightful? I am so impressed every time I us this stamp set from Impression Obsession called Macaron. They just look good enough to eat. I've taken a cooking class that taught me how to make macarons... it is difficult to say the least. I am sure it becomes easier if you do it more than once a year though. The plaid is created with two different stamp sets. The yellow is one larger stamp while I added the pink and orange lines from a plaid builder set called…

Bright and Happy Hello

I decided to have another crack at these colors again. You know, orange, yellow and pink from the challenge over at The Color Throwdown this week. This card turned our rather interestingly, don't you think? Unexpected images for those colors, works? Yes. Would I use them together every day? No. The layout is inspired by the sketch at Cas(e) This Sketch. I did reverse sides, but it's right on the money non-the-less. I like to combine more than one challenge, I find it difficult to do…

Best Birthday Elephant Style

One more go at these colors again. You know, orange, yellow and pink from the challenge over at The Color Throwdown this week. I love a good pink elephant... and the yellow bunny is so chipper. The layout is inspired by the sketch at Cas(e) This Sketch. I gave the background a subtle ombre with my stamp pads, no special technique. The greeting was already in a 1/2 circle shape, just not an exact fit for this particular circle. With a little fussing after I placed it on my Misit it fit like a…

Kind Words are Everything Concord And 9th, Orange Leaf, Kindness Matters, Orange Background, Altenew, Kind Words, Greeting Cards Handmade, Cas, Cardmaking

Kind Words are Everything

Kind words ARE everything. Even when it's hard to say. I am almost embarrassed at how many cards I have made with these colors from the Color Throwdown challenge this week. Funny thing is that I don't really like them so much. Perhaps that's where the challenge was for me. This particular card is the last one I did last night and finished this morning. I do like the juxtaposition of the colored flowers and the orange leaves. I've done this on a couple of cards in the color scheme. I had…

Treat Yourself! Hamster Food, Concord And 9th, Treat Yourself, Greeting Cards Handmade, Cas, Cardmaking, Color Schemes, Stampin Up, Things To Think About

Treat Yourself!

Lot's of elements here, I can't decide if I like it or not. Experimental to say the least. Again it's made with a leftover or two, the background was meant for another card, but that didn't work out. This is my first use of that stamp set with the little hamster/food set, I think it's darn cute. These colors from the Color Throwdown challenge this week, again perhaps I have overdone it on this color scheme. Bare with me. Details to come, I'm not at home right now.... :) I prefer not to have…

Happy Birthday - simple flowers

Here's the second to last card I have made with these colors from the Color Throwdown challenge this week. I opted for a pink that was on the darker redish end of the spectrum. It seemed to work a bit better with the shades of yellow and orange that I chose. The black die with all the circles? Dang that one is a pain. It doesn't cut super well in some areas so I spent a while poking out little circles. It does look pretty cool though set against the white. I'll be adding this to a second…

Hi, Love. Birthday Cards, Happy Birthday, Concord And 9th, Altenew, Greeting Cards Handmade, Cardmaking, Stampin Up, Paper Crafts, Love

Hi, Love... Happy Birthday

Ok, whew. My last card in these colors. This one took a while to balance, the final piece that I put in is the Happy Birthday. It seemed to finally ground the images. To get all those colors in I just switched them around the images.

Together, Color Challenge Card no. 1

Haven't blogged for a bit.... been working on things, just "other" things. :) I am starting to put my cards up for sale slowly but surely. Lot's to do and think about to make sure it's all set up before I get going. ON to the card. So much going on here. The colors are inspired by the current challenge at The Color Throwdown, green, red, black and kraft. I thought it might be cool in a wacky kind of way to use this rose stamp set from Papertrey Inks Text and Texture line called Roses. The…

Thanks, Single Rose

I sold a reasonably pricey stamp holder/organizer today. I felt like it was required to make a card to include in the package. I may be overzealous, but I enjoy giving cards wherever I can, don't you? So here is a quick one, a simple note of thanks for a person I don't know, and never will. I hope she enjoys the card for a brief moment.... and then digs into her new organizing goodie. :) Thanks for new ideas, Alicia

A second card exactly like the first one I did for the color challenge at The Color Throwdown. I was just playing with a different order of colors. Here's a link to the post for the first card. Here's to the funky cards, Alicia

Hello Friend

I'm working on cards to put up for sale in my Etsy store. This particular card is one of a set. The second one will be the subject of my next post. I'm a sucker for high contrast and I love black on white. This doily looks fabulous in black against the white. It's called Hello Doily from Stampin' Up! (retired). The roses are from Altenew and the greeting is from Heidi Swapp, the set doesn't have a name, but I picked it up from Joanns. Layout is inspired by the crafty bunch over at Cas(e)…

Here's the second in the two piece set that will be going into my Etsy store soon. Be sure to check it out as soon as I have it stocked-up. I'll put a link here... :) This particular card is number two of a set. The second is the subject of my previous post. I'm a sucker for high contrast and I love black on white. This houndstooth looks fabulous in black against the white. It's called Houndstooth (duh) from Stampin' Up! (retired). The roses are from Papertrey Ink, FriendshipJar Flowers and…

Long Time No Blog(ing)

Well hello there! It's been a while. I have been working hard on my cards, unfortunately not really for blogging just yet. BUT getting them ready to open my Etsy Shop. I am so excited! I have put together some of my best work (at least I think so). There will be single cards and sets of cards. All meticulously done and coordinated. Anyway, I don't want to bore you... on with a card from a set that I created yesterday. I am in love with this cloud stamp from Impression Obsession, I just think…

Because i Love You

I created this card for my husband last night. Sometimes I just need to remind him of a few reasons why I love him so much. It may be on the feminine side of things, but the colors lend it to a card for a man. I wanted it to have a romantic feel, but still have a masculine edge. I don't know if I hit the mark, but he liked it. The one thing I would do differently? Lighten the doily color. Next time. The stamp sets used are Hello Doily from Stampin' Up! (retired), Just Because from Concord…

Let Your Faith Be Bigger Than Your Fear - Hummingbird

Another card using the Fusion and The Paper Players challenge this week - bright blue, light blue and apple green. I thought the hummingbird would be a perfect image for this saying. My idea is that they are so tiny and fragile but willing to head out into the world and get things done. I constantly have to keep working on my faith overcoming my fear, all-the-time. The background colors worked well as an ombre, but I would have liked to have a little more contrast between the bird and the…
